Default More Touring Car Challenge

BREAKING NEWS

The Jersey Racing Board and the Glen Region have reached an agreement to hold a second Jersey Touring Car Challenge race in conjunction with the Last Chance Regional at Watkins Glen on 6 October 2012. The JTCC event will be held on Saturday of the Last Chance weekend with qualifying (combined with the big bore regional group) in the morning and a standalone 40 minute Challenge race added at the end of the day.

As with our initial race at NJMP, there will be three separate classes in the JTCC
TC1 - SCCA Super Touring Over (STO) and NASA Super Touring 1 (ST1)
TC2 - SCCA Touring 1 (T1) and NASA Super Touring 2 (ST2)
TC3 - SCCA Touring 2 (T2), SCCA American Sedan (AS) and NASA American Iron (AI)

Other cars are being evaluated with specific announcments anticipated next week.
Registration will open early next week after all of the details have been finalized. Because of the overtime / additional expense required to add the JTCC, the region has stipulated an 18 car minimum entry by the Monday prior the event in order to support the race otherwise the event may be cancelled. If you are interested, please plan to register by Monday, 1 October to be counted.

If you raced in the first JTCC, this is an opportunity to double your pleasure, double your fun. If you were unable to attend the NJMP event, this is your opportunity to find out what you missed the first time around.

I hope to see ya at the Jersey Touring Car Challenge

Default Touring Car Challenge

Terry,

Re: TC1
How can an STO car (if crate LS3 at approx 420 RWHP and 3110 lbs) at approx. 7.5 lbs/HP compete against an ST1 car at 5.5 lbs/HP?
am I missing something?

I like the thought of trying to combine different organization categories to increase field size and the other categories appear somewhat close in power to weight.

Registration is now open for our second Jersey Touring Car Challenge race at Watkins Glen on 6 October. It is being held in conjunction with the Last Chance of 2012 weekend conducted by the Glen Region of SCCA.

Supps and Schedule ... Register

When registering for the JTCC the classes are at the bottom of the pulldown list - touring car 1 (TC1), touring car 2 (TC2) and touring car 3 (TC3).

There are options on this multiple activity weekend to add the Friday Test Day (three 20 minutes sessions and a 15 minute session) and the Regional sprint race.

I hope to see ya at the Jersey Touring Car Challenge

Terry

The Touring Car Technical Committee (TC squared) has been reviewing our car classifications and has decided to make two additions.
1984-1996 C4 Corvettes will be added to the SCCA T1 class and be eligible to race in TC2. These cars will use their 2006 TCS specification line and a minimum weight of 3180 lbs. There are still plenty of fine racecars that are too 'old' for SCCA National racing but fit very well with the JTCC.

The SCCA Super Touring Under (STU) class will be added to TC3. This class is the smaller, lighter companion the the STO class. Its preparation level and speed potential are an excellent match for the existing cars in the class
These classifications will be in effect for the next JTCC race at Watkins Glen on 6 October. Registration for that event is now open on MotorsportsReg

See ya at the races

If we want to just come up and watch the race, how do we get in? The Glen won't let anybody into the track unless they are on the access list.

This is a quick reminder about our Jersey Touring Car Challenge race at Watkins Glen on 6 October. The region has requested that competitors in the race enter the event by 1 October so that they can ensure the financial support is in place for the additional time required for our race.

Supps and Schedule ..... Register

There is a Test Day on Friday and an optional Regional race on Saturday available to JTCC entrants.
