The Rolex 24 is coming up!!!
The Rolex 24 at the Daytona Int'l Speedway is coming up - Sat/Sun Jan 26-27.
And of course practice and qualifying on Thurs/Fri, with the Conti Tire 200 on Friday.
Who will be here???
I'd like to get-together like we've done in past years.
Let's start a roll call so I can get a place reserved in advance if we'll have 20 or so people like last year.
Bob
Roll Call:
BEZ06 - 3
GT Racing Tires - 4
05C6GAC - 2
varkwso - 6 or 7
Locke - 1
Seadawg - 1
reidry - 2
flcpl4fun - 2
JeremyGSU - 1
Z07 Ed - 3
Total so far - about 25

Any suggestions as to were we should have dinner this year? Lets make sure we get large tables for a better social setting. I am good with Stonewood again.

Since I could not park in the infield last year because I got there after 9, I have my Grassroots Motorsports tickets in hand!
I'll be there and would love to get together.
Gee, this time last year my car was on jack stands and I was trying to get the roll cage installed. Not much has changed. I needed another milestone to remind me how slow I work on cars....................

I'll be there, but only for Sunday. I'll be in Kissimmee from Wednesday through Saturday, for the swap meet at the NCRS show, and then coming over first thing Sunday morning with some friends.

When and where???
I assuming Friday night - although we could do something Thursday night as well.
But, for the main get together, how about Friday night at 6:30 or 7:00?
We've been to the Stonewood Grill in Ormond a couple times. They have previously had a nice room with a large table for our group. It's about 11 or 12 miles northeast the Speedway, near the beach in Ormond Beach. Here's their menu:

Last year we were at Miller's Ale House right near the Speedway. It was a nice place, but only had booths, so we didn't get to socialize real well. They do have a very nice outdoor area (it's a large porch area, with a large bar, heaters, but it can be cold in January!!) Here's their menu:

There are a number of other restaurants within 1/2 mile of the Speedway:
Longhorn Steakhouse

BJ's Brewhouse (lots of hand-crafted brews, a great menu, and a separate area they can seat us)
http://www.bjsrestaurants.com/menu
Outback Steakhouse, Applebee's, Chili's, Texas Roadhouse, and many more within a few miles of the Speedway.
Let's plan on Friday evening, let me know what time, and let's try to get a consensus on where!!

Yes, there's a big NCRS event Wed-Sat that week:
http://www.ncrs.org
And there's also a Mecum auction and show in Kissimmee:

If you want to go to that "Taste of 24" on Saturday night that we went to last year, you'll definitely need to buy tickets in advance:

There's Corvette Corral parking in the infield on Friday, and right outside the front stretch grandstands on Sat/Sun:

Well, at least it sounds like you got out okay with no injuries.
Looking forward to seeing you - I assume I can add you to the Friday night get together list - is that right??
