Default Drivers Edge DE at COTA

Anyone know what the regulations are for spectators at the Drivers Edge event at COTA? Is each registered car allowed to have a certain number of "crew members"?

Most TDE events have no limits on guests, they just have to sign track waivers and not park in the pits. Don't know if COTA is different.

The CoTA event IS different. No passengers, solo and advanced drivers only, and guest list people only at the gate. Your best bet is to contact Rick to find out what it takes to get on the guest list.

How much did you pay for the event?

The event was $375 for one day, which is definitely steep for a one day event, but given CoTAs current stance on future events, it's a small price to pay (IMO) for a unique opportunity.

The following suggestions were sent out by The Drivers Edge for the Jan. DE. I assume they can accomodate trailer rigs (call first):

• Airport Hilton is the closest to the track room rates are $139 plus (6 miles from track)
• La Quinta Austin Airport we found an online rate $85 all rooms (7 miles from track)
• Microtel Inn & Suites Austin Airport we found an online rate $67 & $75 double (8 miles from track)
• Casulo Hotel (11 miles from track) www.casulohotel.com

I can't wait to do this. Car prep continues today. Note brake tech item too. That back straight... I would want full brakes well flushed for that.

I am so jealous of you guys. I tried to sign up but I have no history with drivers edge. Even though I am approved solo/advanced at ECR and MSR with Apex I havent been evaluated by anyone with drivers edge so I got shot down. Be sure and post lots of video so I can live vicariously through you.

I'm in and will be there Sunday. I will have fresh brake fluid and fresh pads. Two straights on the track. .5 miles and .7 miles with heavy braking zones. Should be a blast in the ZR1.

See you guys there that made it!

From the F1 video of the USGP - those cars were hitting 190+ mph at the end of the T11 - T12 straight. I doubt my car will see that but the distance is comperable to TWS T1 at the end of the NASCAR straight (CCW) which is 150~ mph. COTA T12 is a a hard 90* turn instead of the gradual transition into T2/T3 (TWS). The track will be using brakes for sure.

All "guests" must sign a pre request application through TDE page and be on the list to get in to the track per DE Note to drivers today

Jerry, I'll be posting some vids - once the event happens. It's this next weekend (12/13).

Not able to find "Guest List Sign-up Form" on TDE website. Is it on their Facebook page? Any help finding info on "Guest List" would be appreciated.
