Trying to find a 5 or 6 pt rollbar that will pass NHRA and SCCA
What have you guys been paying for the whole job???? I have
been going around to different shops and the prices are all over
the place. Anywhere from 5000 to 1500.
I could use some good advise ..thanks.

I'm on the fence for a rollbar too (to mount harnesses and a camera), but you're after a rollcage. I don't know about NHRA/SCCA, but NASA mandates a 6pt with 2 driver's door bars are 1 passenger's door bar. $1500 sounds pretty fair to me, I'd steer clear of the $500 bar. You'd probably have 3 feet between any part of the car and the bar. FWIW, Autopower makes bolt in cages on the cheap, but if I'm hacking the interior of my car, I want to make damn sure I'm getting a quality piece, so I'd default to a local highly trusted builder. His cages range from $2-3k generally. I shjt my pants when I first heard about this, and then he showed me the difference. All his race cages are interference fit, as NASA rules prohibit cages from stiffening the chassis for most classes. There was no 1" gap with dimple die, the bar was either up against the A pillar or, where the classes allowed, welded directly to the car. You get what you pay for. How much is your life worth?

If you want a full SCCA approved cage I would estimate the cost to be in the $5K+range. If you want a more accurate estimate contact Joe at Phoenix.

Also, keep in mind that if you do go with a full SCCA cage you will not be able to use your car on the street anymore.

Yes I know and NASA requires a 6 pt. set up. The NHRA can be fitted
with a straight bar behind the seat to attach the harness. NHRA
I only need a 5 pt in my et bracket, but I will go 6pt to satisfy NASN.
It sure gets complicated. And I want to spend as little as
possible. NO lectures on paying high prices for safety..........
If if passes it's safe and I don't pay retail.
