With the change in the hp/wt ratio for TT2 from 8.7:1 to 8.0:1 I need to lose 270 lbs from car or gain 25 hp. Losing that much weight from car is not going to happen so that leaves hp gain. Car currently has conservative tune, my question is will a more aggresive tune get me the 25 hp I need to get close to the 8.0:1 hp/wt ratio I need?

Can you post a dyno sheet with a/f? If the air fuel ratio/timing can be further optimized 25 hp isn't out of the question. E85 could also help.

do you have headers? A set of LG's (or other true long tube design) and a tune would get you there if not.
Since you don't seem to have aero, have you considered adding weight and going to ST3?

That's an old pic of Johns car the RAFT crew has since worked it's magic on it and he has a wing and splitter.
John I would actually just look at swapping out the cam, here is the before and after of a LS2 that I put a Hot Cam in (same car, same dyno before the car just had a Blackwing, headers and a tune - after is with the GM Hot Cam and a re-tune) 30 hp and 19 ft lbs, it's also pretty easy on the valvetrain.

I'm in the GL/MW region too and I'm going to run my C5 in ST3/TT3. You should consider it, it will be more reliable, less wear and tear, and easier on consumables. Our region has potential to have good car counts in this class too. Your car as is should easily fit into ST3/TT3 and will probably be more competitive there. Try it, you can always build a monster motor for ST2/TT2 later if you don't like it. A good motor in a pw/wt class doesn't just hit a high peak hp number, its at that number flat across the usable rpm range.
I'm not done with my build yet but my target is around 350 hp at 3051lbs on 275's and no aero. If I'm not happy with the balance of the car being that light I will add weight and hp.

Lots of good ideas! In fall I used some dyno time to take fuel out of the tune and gained 16 hp, could have went further but pw/wt was maxed.

We are expecting a pretty good TT3/ST3 group here in the southeast, but preliminary entry numbers for our first event in a few weeks has zero entrants for either class. I’m guessing that the March Rd. Atl event will be the true litmus test for the season.
