Where do you hold your water when tracking?
I know I'll need lots of water for my first open track but where will it stay put? Do I need a travel buddy? I HATE when water is rolling around the floor.
Thanks guys!

Geez just pee in the race suit. Just Kidding.
Bring a big plastic tub, tarp, cooler, lawn chair and set up in the paddock.
Put everything loose from the car in the big plastic tub. No loose items in the car, no cell phones. no gps devices, Nothing in the glove box, center counsel in the rear compartments. Take out the floor mats too.

When I get stuck helping with DE tech I feel like a TSA Guard walking up and down the tech line saying exactly that.

The amount of water you will drink can depend on the air temperature. I attend an event at Portland at the end of July when air temps can hit 100 degrees. At those temps I'll usually drink 8-10 bottles of water during the day. When temps are lower (like the usual 50-60 degrees we see in the Puget Sound area) then something like 5-6 bottles will work. I also try to park close to the restrooms....
Events will usually require you to run with windows down, so on a hot day, there are not many ways to cool down.
Some events will provide water for the entrants. But it's always a good idea to bring your own. Get a cooler that will hold enough bottled water and ice. Fill the cooler and add the ice just before you leave home.

A co worker ashed me the same question . I wasnt as nice as these guys .
I told him if you cant go 30 minutes without a water bottle in a car , you might want to try a differant sport .

You'll hate it even more when that water bottle rolls under the brake pedal at the end of a straightaway. As mentioned no loose items in the car, that includes items you've put in the cupholder. If its not bolted down then get it out of the car. I buy one of those large 1 gallon/4 liter jugs of water from the grocery store for a $1. It doubles as emergency coolant if you loose some fluids at the track. Good enough to get you home.
My between sessions ritual: Pop the hood not only to let it cool down but also check fluids (don't pull rad cap off when hot , people do this), check for leaks, walk around car and check all 4 corners to make sure tires still have rubber and aren't flat/damaged.

I've done this enough times I now make it a point to keep at least a 5 gallon jug handy in case I forget to go to the pump. Got tired of having to pull off the line to haul *** to the pump.

I always pop the fuel door at the end of a run to remind me to check the fuel level before the next one.

I also used to not drink before the first session, but once in a while I would get toe cramps, not fun while on track. Finally figured out that I needed to drink before first session, and certainly before I got thirsty. I now drink even though I'm not thirsty to the point I need to pee before a session and problem solved.

My regular routine, bottle water on ice in the cooler, then drink a bottle of water, pee, drive, drink a bottle of water, pee, drive - - You get the idea.
