Street Tire for C6 18x10+18x11
Okay, my Toyo R888s are done. I want to use my CCW C140s on the street, which means I want the nannies to work. In looking around I see Continental ExtremeContact DW and Yokohama ADVAN Sport available in 275/35r18+285/40r18 which is sort of close to stock tire height in the rear.
Any other options? If not I may just go back to stock wheels... lots of tire choices there now... (C6 non-Z, to be clear)

I just installed 18x10.5 all the way around on my 2005 and I went with 295/30/18 and 305/35/18 Toyo R888s for my street tires.
For the price and the grip, the R888s are tough to beat as the better street tires either don't come in the right sizes or are a lot of $$$.
I don't put a lot of miles on my Vette as I live 3 miles from the office and have other cars to use, but if you are putting 5k miles a year or less the R888s are what I recommend.

I've been using the Continental DWs as my day to day street tires and occasional track tires and can't say enough good things about them. They do not have the grip of the R888 obviously but make up for that in longevity. You won't chase lap records with them but they will put a smile on your face. On the track they are a blast - very progressive and tons of feel. Easy to dial in a high slip angle and hold it all the way thru a corner. Mine are really holdig up well to track abuse - I've done at least 8 full track days in the dry and a couple in the rain and they keep on trucking, ready for some more fun this year. I can't speak for other options in track friendly street tires but the DWs are great bang for the buck and I'd doubt you'd be dissappointed.

Your diameters are fine, but the rear tires will look stretched on a 11" wheel. I'm running nitto nt05 275/35-18 ans 295/35-18 and haven't had any problems with active handling on the street. Every day i consider going back to a 18/19" setup for the better street tire selection.

I think the 275/35/18 front and 295/35/18 rear would be a better choice for the wheel widths, but the 285 Continental is very wide for a 285 and will not look stretched in my opinion. I also think the DW makes a great street tire, but I have not had it on track.

Agree, heard nothing but good things about the DW's and hear they're even better in the rain. I plan to use them for street tires and track days in the rain in the future.

Any road noise issues with the NT05? It's good to know a 1/2" diameter difference is all that is required. As you said, I'm half tempted to just go back to stock wheels and sell the CCWs...

I only have driven a few hundred miles on them, so far road noise is comparable to the oem runflats and kumho xs I've had. Also, i haven't had a chance to do any aggressive driving to see if active handling interferes.

Anybody running 275/35r18+295/35r18 with the nannies on the street? Er, just notice hungryhippo state NT05 is those sizes works fine....

The tires were incredibly awesome in the extremely heavy rain during my December 1,2 trackdays at Laguna. At times the rain was so heavy that there were rivers crossing the track. The DW's always maintained traction and control very well while providing good feedback. During the heavy rains I managed to pass several small race cars on racing rain tires. That should give you an idea of how well they work. I use them as my "winter" street tires. They work so much better than anything I've used before I feel like they are a cheater tire. Did I mention that they last a long time and are really inexpensive too.
I use Nitto R2's on the street for the summer months. They are also amazing, but I sure don't want to drive on them in the rain.

I can vouch for both the Continental DW and NT05s. The NT05 will be a better dual tire because of the stiffer sidewall, but don't work too well in the rain/cold and that's where the DW shines. The DW will outlast the NT05 by a good margin, they make a much better street tire.
Here's running the DWs at the track.

Ordered Continental ExtremeContact DW 275/35r18+295/35r18 this morning, should be here tomorrow. Thanks for all the comments. Hope that keeps the nannies happy. 275+305 have been good... now to figure out my street alignment...
Front: -1.1deg camber, 0 toe, max even caster
Rear: -0.8deg camber, 0 toe(?)
Zero thrust. And hope that tucks the front tires inside the fenders enough... this is a pure street application right now...
