I have a 2012 I bought last June. Noticed tranny fluid on the driveway a few months ago. Took the truck in (under warranty) to be fixed. Service writer told me the way they bent the lines, they rubbed against the chassis and rubbed a hole in the lines. When the tech installed the new lines, they did a couple of extra bends to pull the lines off the chassis and wrapped them with some insulator. Said that should keep them from rubbing again.

One of the guys that we vintage race with, had the lines go on his Dually, coming to NJMP last summer. He towed down from upstate New York, and was virtually within site of the track, when the truck stopped. He had the truck towed to the local Chevy dealer, and they replaced the lines the next day. They told him that they keep the lines in stock, since they replace a couple a month.

Unfortunately, your not much better off with a gas engined Silverado. They seem to have trouble with the fuel lines rotting out.

Didn't know that about the post 2010 models. The 2006 to 2010 models are the ones with weakness in the crimped fittings on the ends. Chaffing is not the problem on these models. The aftermarket kits come with much better fittings.

My cream puff low mileage '08 C3500 dullay/Duramax/Allison is leaking and yes there are bulletins for the transmission cooler lines, all of them including auxiliary cooler. This is considered powertrain and is warranted longer than the bumper to bumper , especially on the diesel . Replaced the line that is leaking they say....KMA, they are gonna replace all of them on my truck....

And camaro gear shifters. (sorry) I'll show you my aftermarket lines in April. You might even be surprised how well I routed and shielded them. I am so proud of myself.

So, now I'm going to do the lines. Is it worth it to do a deep pan ($165 for pan, gasket, deep filter, filter lock) while I'm in the area?

I dunno. My Duramax is not modified on power. The tranny is great with the current power, smooth and silky.
