bent wheel - repaired - good for track?
hi - I had a blow out at the Glen last year.
Now the wheels has a slight bend in it (i see it on the wheel balancer).
Will it be safe to race on if I get it repaired?
like this one (not mine):

I bought a set of used CCW rims, and the two fronts had a slight bend along the inside part of the rim. Had both straightened, and have noticed no ill effect at the track. Tires balanced perfectly.

guess that is an overwhelming yes. I would still use your best judgment If you are looking for used track wheels you may be able to find one cheep that has never been bent for near the cost of a repair but I do agree with every one here that should be no problem :-)

Where can you get a bent wheel repaired? I'm in Clarksville, TN (north of Nashville). I don't know where I would go to get a wheel repaired.
And what's a fair price?

Check with whoever is doing the repair work to see if repainting the wheel is included or extra. (Obviously repainting wasn't part of the deal on the rim you used for an example.)
I used these people in Bath, PA. They repair & refinish the wheel to OEM specs, but the price includes everything necessary to achieve that finish. (No piecemeal jobs, just the whole enchilada!)

Thanks! I called and found that the Wheel Shop nearby does it for $60. If I have to get it/them repainted, it'll be a good excuse to powdercoat my CG rims black like I want.
I have shake/vib at all speeds, more noticeably at higher speeds. I want to get it all sorted out before AMP in May.
Thanks again and God bless!
