Default C6 and C5 Spring Rates on Aero Race Cars

Converting my car from SCCA T1 to STO / GT2 including full aero with wing, splitter, rockers and hood.

Curious to see what everyone running full aero on their race cars is running for front and rear spring rates and if anyone has tried running GM T1 springs with their aero in place.

Also, anybody running VB and P leaf springs?

Thanks

Default Spring rates

Jason,

I think Danny and John has run or is still running VBP setup with aero and splitter. They should have some good data.

Yes, unless Danny and James Forbis have changed their setups, they are running VBP springs with their aero. It's a very stiff spring setup, but their cars are very good.

I know Jody Austin (Falcon) has been running T1 springs with his aero so you might could ask him how it feels.

I'm also interested in the front rear balance of the springs. Heavier front? Heavier rear?

Thanks guys.

Do coil-over spring-rates translate directly to leaf-spring rates, or is there a correction factor caused by the different motion?

Thanks!

What aero are you running, and are your springs coil-overs or leaf spring?

Also curious what stabilizer bars people are running- ie are you going to smaller bars when going with stiffer springs?

I'm running an ACP front setup and a Fulcrum wing. Wally ran a Kognition wing. Both of us were on coilovers, and I dont think they translate exactly to leafs, but I don't know.

I'm still on T1 bars, but I have a smaller bar for the rear I need to try out.

Thanks again! What is the splitter size you are running?

Sounds like most NASA folks are running 4", whereas in SCCA 2" is max.
