Default hoosier slicks - new - 6 years old

I have two new rear sticker Hoosier slicks.
Could I but two new fronts and make a set.

Would you run these new 6 year old rears on your car?

Is it a bad idea to match new 6 years old rear tires with two new new fronts.
Tires were property stored in heated/cooled garage since new and look perfect.

I don't want to cheap out on a couple of tires and run into any issues..

Thanks........

It depends on speeds you plan on running. From past experience, I always want more grip in the rear, or equal grip everywhere. If your going to unbalance by having more grip in the front, be prepared to lose the rear end here and there, so I would stick to autocross, where the damage is almost non existent.

Of course, the remaining part of the equation is: Will the old really grip less? That, I can only assume.

They're just too old to run.

I would use them, being aware of the significant lowering of rear grip due to age, compensate as best you can with setup there are many ways.

I would not track them.

Get new tires! All the base stock that keeps race tires viable are dried out. Those tires will go away on you quickly and without any warning.
