Default NCM HPDE @ Sebring Mar 29-30

Another great NCM event!!! The weather was great and no incidents! All participants went home with their trophy's (CARS) and pride in tact. A big thanks to Roc, Rudy, Ted and Chuck along with many others who worked very hard to get this first time event off the ground. It was really great that the Cadillac team was there practicing the 2 days before, so that Andy Pilgrim and Johnny O'Connell could be there along with John Heinricy and Kirt Bennion. Video's to follow. JD

Here is a video of a couple of laps with a friend in the car showing him the course. Hope you enjoy!! As you can see the weather is great and the cars loved the cool temps in the morning. JD

Nice video. How many times have you been to Sebring? And how hard were you pushing it with the friend vs a regular lap? Kind of wish I would have gone to this now but I had just gone the week prior with Chin.

Hi Dave, thanks for all of your help with the brakes. You saved the day! That is your blue car in front of me in the video. Hope you can make the NCM event at VIR in June? Really had lots of fun running with you. JD

Hi Jeremy, I talked to you at several of the Chin events. I usually run in the low 2:20s and 2:19 has been the best time. There were lots of people that had never been to Sebring before so we gave lots of rides. It was a really fun event with lots of track time. One thing that was really nice is that the instructors only had one student!! Which gave them much more quality track time. JD

I got lucky and had a really good student. It was a lot of fun watching him improve over the two days. Had a great time!

Video of a much slower couple of laps at a 2;35 & 2:31 pace my best lap.
Boy do I need a good race seat, my knees have cherries from holding myself in.

Looks like you had a lot of clear track. Where were all the other cars?

There were only about 10 cars on track that session, some well timed good pointbys and a big track made for many clean laps.
Kind of sandbagged as I was given my black dot and band in the morning when I put on the Coninental scrubs, but blue had so few cars and a bunch of great guys I stayed in it by choice. Sometimes its better to be the big fish instead of eaten by the sharks.

NCM did a nice job of having smaller run groups.

NCM Sebring 2013 couple of good laps in C6 Z06 - YouTube
Nice. The biggest thing I see for major time reduction is you could carry a lot more speed entering 17. You are really slowing down. Of course, doing this without a race seat can be difficult.

You could carry more speed in Bishops Bend too but also the race seat most likely.

Good driving. Do you have an exhaust on that thing? It sounds good.

HaHaHa! That was a great session! I was in the black car with the wing just ahead of you. I was taking video both days but forgot to turn on my camera that particular session and it's been bugging me ever since. It was good to be able to see it again.

Great driving and good lines! If I remember correctly you had some blue tape on the front of your car to protect it. Reminds me of a joke we came up with that day. How do you keep a Panoz from spinning? You park it. (I can say that because I raced one for 3 years).

Great time and thanks for posting the video!

Thanks Jeremy, stock exhaust with muffler mod. Mcar00, I kept messing up my video also, in this session I had it on "Segment" instead of "Circuit" so no lap times. The group was a blast your car/you is/are fast. Yes had the blue tape on the hood, clear bra on the rest of it, that's funny about the Panoz, I don't think he wanted to be passed, Ha!

Wow. That's loud for muffler mod.

Agreed. I've tried chasing him in my C5 Z before to no avail. I had to look down at my tach to make sure my engine was working he was pulling away so fast.
