Engine Oil Cooler Advice

Engine Oil Cooler Advice
I bought a used engine oil cooler with braided hoses and engine block.
I intended to mount the oil radiator horizontally in front of the AC condenser with the two hose fittings at the top of the cooler. However, in looking at the oil line configuration and talking with the previous owner, I learned the oil cooler was mounted vertically with the two hose fittings to the left (outside) and on the left side of the AC condenser.
I am wondering if mounting position makes any difference for oil flow or draining or cooling.
Experts, your advise, please. Thanks.

Yes it does! Either way in your post is fine just not with the fittings to the bottom so an air pocket can form at the top of the cooler. If you mount it sideways the lower fitting should be inlet and the top return.

Other End
Now I have to figure out which hose goes on which connection on the adapter block at the other end. On the adapter block, which connection is output and which one is input?

Andrew is correct.
Here is a photo of my SETRAB oil cooler mounted in front of my A.C. condenser. The bottom fitting is the inlet and the top fitting is the outlet:
Good luck with your installation.

Thanks
Thanks for the response guys.In the package I bought, the adapter block with the oil line connections, attaches to the side of the engine block just above the oil filter. The filter remains unchanged.
There is one connection on the top of the adapter block and one connection at the front side of the adapter block.
Any thoughts?
