Default Introducing PLANTED seat mounting brackets

Planted Seat Bracket

The Planted Seat Bracket is made with 3/16" thick steel for superior strength. It is built to accept sliders from most major seat manufacturers like Bride, Cobra, Corbeau, Momo, OMP, Racetech, Recaro, Sparco, Status & more. Extra material is provided for direct seat or side mount applications where eliminating sliders is preferred. They are finished with a black powder coat

NO The Planted Seat Bracket is built to install a RACE SEAT into your car an built to accept sliders from most major RACE seat manufacturers like Bride, Cobra, Corbeau, Momo, OMP, Racetech, Recaro, Sparco, Status & more. Extra material is provided for direct seat or side mount applications where eliminating sliders is preferred. They are designed to bolt to the factory mounting location so no need to drill any holes in your car. They are finished with a black powder coat

Why do seat mounting brackets always taller in the front? Since most people are trying to get the seat as low as possible it seems like it would be better to keep them right on the floor.

I agree. With a helmet on, we are already losing 2" of head room. And any person 6'1" at taller, head room gets tight with a helmet. Especially with a upright seating position.

In most cases, if you sight straight upward, you would be miserably uncomfortable AND have less headroom. Tilting it back gives you more space since the front is just raising your knees, not your head. Also, Pythagorean theorum applies......more tilt equals more headroom.

That being said, if you are really tall, you need to be mounted directly to the floor, OR use an aluminum seat to get really low.

And the C5 passenger seat rail needs to be tall in the front to clear the active handling sensors.

I wonder if you can just bolt the stock seat directly to the bracket and eliminate the slider to gain height. Of course this assumes the pedal distance works. I have C6RS seats but they are built from stock seats.

We have mounted the sub-belts to the rear bar and to the elongated slots in the middle of the seat bracket

But I'd rather tilt the seat via the side brackets. Because with any base where the front is higher, the farther forward the seat, the higher the seat is going to sit as you slide up that incline.

Here is another option more expensive but if your tall you get the most head room and can tilt the seat back

http://www.xplosiveperformance.com/H...in_p_3545.html

we also have a seperate sub belt bracket that mounts at the rear of the seat and is $165.00

What is the "rear bar"?
How did you mount to elongates slots on the seat mount? What type of harness end?
