Default Track Day Tires

What size tire and wheels do you use for slicks.
Looking at Hoosiers R6
Suggestions?

275/35ZR18 Front on 18x10
275/35ZR18 Rear on 19x 12.5 or 13?
Thanks,

Thanks,
FYI a Hoosier R6 is not technically considered a "slick" since it is DOT legal.

The answer is it depends. Are we talking base model or wide body? I have a grand sport which is wide body so I run 18x11 front and 18x12 rear. You will have far better choices if you go 18 inches all the way around.

On my car that means I can run R6 18s that are 275/35/18, 295/30/18, or 315/30/18 up front and 345/35/18 rear. You need to stay very close to overall diameter your OEM setup had. On my car that is 25.6 front and 26.7 rear. Deviate too far from that ratio and a C6 won't be happy.

Some people like a square setup where you run the same tire size on all 4 corners. This is cost efficient since you can rotate. I'm not sure if it leads to the best track results as I've never seen the C6.R ALMS run square. They run bigger rear than front.

I have a spreadsheet I built that I will send if you PM your e-mail address. It lists a lot of tires that will work with my setup and may help you.

18" track tires are more cost effective.
