Looking for any good suggestions / pictures on installing a fuel cell on a couple of C3's. (Buddies) We high speed auto cross.
(yes we did a serch)
One car is vented through the gas cap with a mechanical pump at the motor.
The other is vented now at the fuel tank up to the front can and uses an electrical pump.
Planning on putting the fuel cell low where the spare tire would be and the accusump above it where the present fuel tanks are. Have been looking at an 18 gallon unit from Fuel safe.
Planning at manufacturing a cage frame for the unit so it can be easily removed but concerned how to utilize the present fill opening in the middle of the back deck.

Can you add an extension from the filler of the fuel cell up to the opening in the decklid? It might defeat the purpose of the fuel cell by having a 6" to 12" long extender, but it's no different than any modern car with the tank a foot or more away from the fuel door. The cap would be up under the door, mounted on the top of the extension, rather than down on top of the fuel cell.
