Cool well written and something we all know, I missed my C5 z06 as a DD now thats is a race car, find mine myself looking for another just to keep as a street car.

Good read.
I have been thinking about a c6z when the price drop happens, but I don't know how I can stand to sell the 04 c5z Commemorative. It never lets me down & still such a blast to drive.
All the c6z has is 100 more horses, a bunch more $$$ to buy and a body style I still don't especially like.

Only 100 more horses you say? On our 2nd flying start, I got the jump on the only C6Z in our group. He took me by force before T1 and I had no intention of lifting, I even took a different line to get him back in the first half of T1 but after that it was a battle of R6 vs. NT05 and I lost, but damn "only" 100hp was enough difference to not only recover from the jump but to absolutely rape me by the end of the straight! He didn't walk by, he sucked my passenger door off! I've ridden shotty too, that LS7 is a work of art. If only. . .

I know I'll end up getting one, sigh. Wish I could keep the c5z too, but I've been there b4 with too many cars.
It will be fun to get the c6z & make it handle like my c5z, plenty of fun suspension bits to bolt on.

I like the look of both cars, never been one to hate the C6. And damn, you've probably ridden/driven one before too, so you know the feeling of that LS7. Now I know how helpless all those Porsches must feel when I take them down.

He has a6 tires but the suspension/alignment is stock. It feels heavy and slow reacting compared to mine.
But it's really apples/oranges as I havea LOT of suspension/alignment advantages going on.
I haven't driven one on a track (but I have been passed by some).
If/when I get one & do the suspension/alignment mods it should be very capable.
For autox the high tranny gears are a detriment though.
I really have mixed feelings on it.
They have not dominated on a national level in Solo2.

I know that some "national level " drivers feel that the C6 Z06 can not win at the national lvl autox, mostly due to gearing issues. The GS has the gearing issues solved, but is not an aluminum framed car with an LS7. but it does seem to have better lower end than the stock LS7.
In classes where you can swap trannys, the LS7 pull back ahead.
Now that being said I have heard from one of these same drivers that a C5 is a much easier car to autox vs the C6
