Default Button on the shifter to "blip" the throttle?

A good friend of mine just purchased an 08 Z06, mostly to do track days, with the occasional cruise around town. He has nerve damage to his right foot from a motorcycle accident, and while I was at the track with him this past weekend he was having a hell of a time heel toe shifting. He has no feeling in his right foot. I saw the thread with the C5R race car with the button to blip the throttle, but can this be done on a stock C6Z?

I believe he is talking about the button being discussed on this car:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/auto...-race-car.html

Not a sequential shift gearbox.

With the throttle by wire there is no way to make a circuit to blip it? No I'm not referring to a sequential gearbox.

i found a thread from 06 talking about doing it on a c5, it ends with no more info.. best i could find..

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...ttle-blip.html

the car mentioned in the thread above (racecar) has a different ecu- motec i believe.

it is a cool idea and i am sure it can be done, but as i read from that old thread it can create an unsafe condition with the electronic throttle

good luck

I have no clue. I was just pointing out that the "C5R" in question with the button wasn't this:

Which would indeed have a mucho dollar sequential gearbox as Ernie said.

Call david at Speedsouth 205-621-6969. They have done this on both h pattern and sequential shift cars. The owner had one on his C6 that blipped automatically with no need for a button. It could be turned off when not on track.

6:00 min into the video if anyone else goes searching for it.

I forget which car, but there is one now that blips as you move the shifter, no button.

I found a wiring schematic for the throttle actuator control module for 97-2005 vettes, and it looks like you could intercept the accelerator pedal signals (wires 417 & 427) and apply a signal that simulates higher throttle position percentage.

http://chevythunder.com/Engine%20sen...ule,%20TPS.gif

I'm thinking you could use a blip button signal to actuate a micro-relay with the pedal signal on the normally closed side and a constant voltage on the normally open side.

You'd have to determine what voltage relates to what throttle position for both of the accelerator pedal signals, then apply a voltage that equates to whatever throttle position you want for your blip.

The 370Z does it for you.

Just an FYI, speedsouth is in the process of building a plug and play kit for this. It should be just a few weeks from hitting the shelves. I'll keep you guys posted.

The C7 does this, from the factory, so I'm sure there is a way to do it for the C6.

Buy a C7 with Z51 package, 7 speed manual

has an automatic rev match for shifting up or down.

Works good too.
