Buying & Restoring a GTP Corvette
Made a deal to buy the 1st of 9 GTP Corvettes
Lola built 9 chassis back in the 80s w Corvettish bodies. They used either a V6 Turbo or a V8 and I've heard they were extremely fast but a little fragile & thirsty compared to the dominating Porsche 962s.
Mine is all apart right now so You guys get to see pics of the rebuild
I believe mine is Lola T711-HU02 run by lee racing

If I read Alex Gabbard's book, Corvette GTP correctly, there were 8 built?
He lists the first car built as the prototype, built on a Lola T-600 chassis. This car was chassis number HU-600/10, and belonged to Chevrolet. It was used for design and development, but never raced.
The second car built, was raced by Hendrick Motorsports in 85/86, with a 209cid turbo V6. The car crashed at Riverside in April 86, and was listed as destroyed. It was chassis number HU-710/01.
The third car built was the car raced by Lee Racing. It was the first Corvette GTP, to be raced, making it's debut at the Daytona 24 Hour race in February 85. It was powered by a 6.0 V8, and was chassis number HU-711/02.
The next two cars (chassis' HU-8610/01 and /02) went to Hendrick. 8610/01 was raced in 86 and 87, with both a 3.4 and 3.0 turbo V6. 8610/02 was raced from 86-88, using turbo V6 versions of the 3.4 and 3.0 V6, as well as a 6.0 V8.
The next car built was chassis HU-8610/03. This car was used to develop GM's active suspension system, and was only raced once, at Columbus OH in 87. It was raced with a 3.0 turbo V6.
In 1988, Hendrick received the 7th chassis built, HU-8710/01. This car was raced with a 6.0 V8 by Hendrick's from February 88, till October 88, when he finally gave up on the program.
The last chassis built was chassis HU-8810/01. This car was delivered to Peerless Racing, and raced from October 88, through July 89, and was powered by a 6.0 V8.
You might want to reach out to Corvette racer and Forum member, Kerry Hitt. Kerry owns Advanced Composites Products in Harrisburg, PA. I'm pretty sure that Kerry owned one of the very first Corvette GTP's, for a while. It was in the late 80's or early 90's, though I don't think he ever raced it. You can reach Kerry through his website.

How about some pictures of it in it's current condition? Good luck with your project/restoration.

If you need some body panels/doors/etc...I'd say you need to talk to Gary at Mongoose Motorsports.
He has the original body molds from Lola...could be a big help to you if needed.
