Default German GP

Well the German GP was very exciting for events (especially if you were a photographer), AND it was also very exciting from a RACING point of view.

Yep, that was pretty good (except for who won it )

I see that Red Bull was fined 30k Euros for the unsafe release. THAT will teach them! That amount of money could really put a dent in their take-a-penny dish

I read that he has a broken collar bone, and a few ribs. Painful, but not life threatening.

Don't know about injuries, but the post race (F1 Extra???) seemed to say the he "WALKED AWAY!!" WOW, I thought he was lucky to be alive.

I watched that then re-watched it again a few times since I was recording it. I thought for sure he would have had some fractured vertebrae and had a good chance to be a paraplegic after that. Glad to here a clavicle and a few rib fractures. He'll be sore, but he'll be alright if that's all he had.

Nasty hit to photog, According to the recap he was "uninjured" yeah, right.

What about Alonso? Out of gas?

I think he knew he was going to run out so he just stopped there.

The cars are required to have 1 liter of fuel left for testing so he must have know if he kept going he was going to be short.

Photographer: broken shoulder, broken ribs, bruises. Will probably be in hospital for a couple of days.

Alonso: "At the end, we stopped because we wanted to make sure that we had the fuel needed for the regulation [sample]," said Domenicali.

I wonder if Kimi would have been able to hold off Vettel if he didn't make that last stop and stayed out on the mediums.

Maybe. Obviously the team didn't think so but then they were having radio problems all weekend so they may not have had a good picture of Kimi's tire situation. Kimi thinks he might have made it without the stop:

Kimi tends to be more of a gentleman driver than some when he knows he really can't hold back the gang behind him. On the other hand, if it was the last lap, and he was in the lead, and Vettel was nipping at his ***, I'll bet he could (and would) be a real a-hole about it

I think it would have, and I would have gambled it. The Lotus had great tire wear. He came in for the last stop on lap 50 of 60, and had a 13.8 sec lead at the time. Even if he gave up 1 sec/lap in the last 10, he would have had him. And catching and passing are two different things.

You already had a team car that was running 2nd, go for it.

IMO, Kimi could have very easily been the winner of the last two events if he had a different strategy in the final stint.
