Default Auto-Blip

Soooo.... just got my Auto-Blip in the mail today and was wondering if anyone on the Corvette Forum uses one, or wants to admit to using one??? For me this seems like a great product and will hopefully help me with the learning phase of driving on track.

Thoughts???

If it works it would be major help to someone that has challenges with heal/toe braking as I do. I never tracked my E46 M3 with SMG but just in spirited driving having perfectly coordinated downshifts that don't upset the car has got to be huge advantage.

I am willing to admit that over many seasons of autox, road racing and HPDEs I never felt completely comfortable with heal/toe coordination and that is with the normal garage full of trophies. Hence I would brake hard with my right foot and simply change down at the apex when the car was going slowest and the gear change would least upset the car. Now I was fairly competent at that but nevertheless gotta think I was a second or two slower than I could have been had I been able to heal/toe on the average 2 mile track.

Let us know how it works. The key is getting it adjusted so that a max threshold braking maneuver that has a gear change in it doesn't upset the threshold nature of your braking.

I also have large feet and bad ankles. If it works I'm in.
I wonder if you could usen a button on the shift **** instead of the brake switch? I posted this question on their tech info link.

I just received a reply from Auto Blip about using a button on shift **** instead of brake switch. As I figured this will work just fine.

WEll I got mine in it looks promising, it will take a bit of adjusting but we'll see how it does on the track this weekend. Just from playing with it on the street it seems like I might have to adjust my driving / shifting style a little.

Once you get everything set up right I think that you are going to find that this makes a big difference since you were not able to heel toe with those size 17's that you got! Let us know how it goes after you get a chance to try it out on track this weekend

Having it on the shifter would be a major improvement. And if you were electronics savvy, it could bee done for 20$

I can report that it does what it is supposed to do and I think it is worth the money for guys like me that cannot do the heel toe thing. Frankly even for those that can I think this is a pretty good product. It is not for use on the street as it would blip every time you came to a red light. Also it is smart enough to know that it should only blip if the brake is pushed first and then the clutch.

Did you use it on the track?
How was it?

Yes I have had an opportunity to use it on a track that was what the report was in reference to. It works pretty well actually. You do have to adjust the dials to suit your shifting style but its not hard to do and once you set it you don't really need to mess with it again.
