SCCA full cage and side windows

SCCA full cage and side windows
Hi,
I am just about to have a full SCCA cage fitted to my C5 Z06.
Will this mean that I will lose my side windows completely?
My installer seems to think not BUT I thought I would ask the racers on the site as they will surely know. Not that I need the windows particularly, only when towing in the rain with an open trailer ?
Thanks in advance !

Here is a question to the OP, why are you worried about saving the windows when you are putting a cage in the car?

I have seen several cars locally that have the side bars and have retained closable windows. They were done by Piper Motorsports in Northern VA. Door panels cut away and power junk for window was removed. Track window guides stayed and the window is pulled up and secured by a strap. You lose a little side room, but not much, maybe an inch or two.

I bought a sheet of 1/8" lexan from Lowes and used a dremmel to cut each side to fit. Took a bit of patience, but the lexan and 3" painters tape will keep all (or most) of the rain out when towing.

Here's the best pic I have of the lexan windows.
I put black gorilla tape on the edges to protect potential corners and fingers... Shoot me a PM if you have any questions.

I received your PM, but my "Premier" account expired and they won't let me respond without deleting about a thousand old pm's first so I'll just say it here.
Yes, definitely build the cage to scca and nasa specs so you can sell the car later. You can have it built in stages if you like. For example, just have the builder start with a roll bar with rear bracing that can later be modified with a full front cage. If you are in CA, then you might want to contact TC Design in Milpitas since they can handle not only the cage, but also the rest of the things you might want (steering wheel, seat, harnesses, etc.).
