FS 2013 ST3 National Championship winning car
Many on the forum will know this car from NASA events. Car # 557.
Car is a 2003 Z06 currently with 20k on it, Millenium Yellow. Purchased as a street car and still has original title.
Currently has 2013 NASA ST2 & 3, and TT2 & 3 approved log book. (2010, 2011,2012).
Motor is a LS6 with less than 15 hours, upgraded (before being run) with a Katech oil pump, torquer cam, timing chain, valve springs and belt tensioner. Installed prior to 2012 Nationals and driven by Ken Smith at that event. I believe Ken ran a 1.30.8 and finished 3rd.
Car is very well sorted and very fast.
Restrictor plate lets it run in TT3/St3, Remove and you can run TT2/St2 with slicks. Comes in at about 3300 with driver
Based on the current NASA rules (of which I am not familiar) the car could be modded up or down to suit whatever class you wanted to run in. Same I guess for SCCA.
Here’s Johns list of mods.
Exedy single disk clutch w/aluminum flywheel.
Dewitt high capacity alum radiator (repositioned)
Rear mounted fan cooled differential cooler
Rear mounted fan cooled transmission cooler
Differential rebuilt 2011 and polished gears
Quiaffe rear differential
Transmission rebuilt by D & D in 2011 Polished gears etc etc
Pfadt carbon fiber driveshaft
LG Coil Overs (bilstien /hypercoil)
LG Longtube Headers & X pipe (no cats)
Borla Straight pipes
LG tunnel support
Performance AFX Cage (Nascar bars driver/passenger)
Performance AFX Fire suppression
Pfadt Spherical upper/lower control arm bushings (new)
GM T1 bars (front/rear)
PowerGrid Adjustable Sway Bar Links (front/rear)
AP Racing Front 6 piston calipers (2-piece rotors)
GM Z06 Front calibers in rear (2-piece rotors)
Stainless steel brake lines (all 4)
Doug Rippie front brake cooling duct kit
1 set Nuringburg 18" (11.5)
SKF racing hubs (all 4)
LG 67.5" rear world challenge carbon fiber wing w/ custom mounts
Blackdog Racing carbon fiber nose and splitter (2.5")
ACP world challenge carbon fiber vented hood
Phoenix front and rear tow hooks
Sparco sport cup seat (FIA approved) new installed but unused
Sparco quick release steering wheel
Race Pak G2X GPS data system
Chase Cam Digital Video Recorder
Coolsuit system
The fabrication and all the mechanical work was performed by Greg Dansbury (P & M) and it’s beautifully crafted with great fit and finish.
Car has run a 1:31.xx at Mid Ohio in TT3 trim. Ran a 2:03.3 being held up, it would have won TT3 National championship with a little better luck and fresher tires. It will run a 2:02.xxx at Miller in TT3 trim. My last laps were a 2:03.5 at Miller in TT right after winning ST3, running same tires I just burned up for 45 minutes during the race.
$35k
