Hello Everyone ... this is my first post.

I'm a long time DE person (20+ years) and have recently sold out of another marque in favor of the Corvette. I seek advice for a pretty simple question that I think I know the answer to, but feel like getting ridiculed anyway... the use looks like this... 60 to 70% street enjoyment 30 to 40% track event enjoyment ... and the question is...

... C5 Z06 or C6 Base?


My guess is just adding brake pads, fluid and something like Pilot Sport Cups or R1s.

I'm doing the same thing and went for the C5Z06. It's more fun to drive than the Grand Sport I tried last summer, so I think it would be a lot more fun than a base C6.

Based on the criteria you have listed - Hands down the C5 - Z06 would be the better track car. Now if you bumped up your choice to a GrandSport C6, entirely a different story.

This question is asked many times (if you do a search) and the answer you'll get from most is C5Z. Bang for the buck winner, hands down.

But the C6 looks soo much better....

So, many nice C5 Z06's for sale right now and seemingly a very good value.

C6 is nicer on the street. More refined, nicer interior. C5Z is better on the track.
