I go straight to autox & roadrace, and this new layout has a LOT of dead space on the top 1/2 of the screen. The bottom 25% of the screen starts to have posting of threads which is what I log in for. Before IIRC at least 50% of the screen had posting.

Maybe the dead space is for new ads? I get that the ads pay for the forum. But I think it's a step back as far as the function/user friendly aspect of the forum. Loading too many ads up front slows everything way down, we all know that, so eventually if it gets too slow, we move on to a "faster" forum.

There's way too much "white space" at the top of every section, not just here. In fact the first text line of the top thread in any of the sections is down about 3/4 of the way down the vertical portion of my monitor.

But I see the same thing in a number of other forums where I am a member. It's not ads, but just the overall design of the page.

And just think ... someone went to a lot of trouble to screw up a perfectly organized and working site ...

Will never understand why folks always seem to need new and improved ... maybe just me ... LOL

This site is so bogged down with advertising code it doesn't always load for me. Some times I come here and it loads okay then other times it hangs up and I give up and leave.
