Good size ST-2 Field for Barber...
I was looking at the entries for the NASA Feb Barber event and it looks like a pretty good turnout for ST-2. That should be some fun.
Good luck to you guys!!!

Are you going to come out and visit?
I'm working on getting the C4 ready for the event.

Yeah I'm excited about the turnout for most groups. I think it's a combination of it being a multi-region event and the fact that most everyone has been wanting to go back there for 4 years now. Should be a good weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

I may join you guys in ST2...
ST1 signups are dismal. I need to lose 50rwhp and add 250lbs of ballast on the passenger side floor, which would put me right on the number. If I can get the LG detune and the ballast safely in there all in time, there is a good chance I move to ST2 for this race.

The event is a DE & comp school with a small race thrown in. Too far to tow for that amount of track time.
BTW I was the lone ST1 guy & I cancelled last week went to MVP COTA instead. 6 hours on track over 3 days.

My reply from the other Barber thread: For the race group, the lack of track time (vs a DE driver) meant I had to "supersize" to HPDE4 for another $250 (TT was full) in order to learn the track. If you already know the track than that certainly makes the time less of an issue. For me, that meant $650 total in registration. One "warmup" Sunday for *all* race groups (150 cars) meant no real warm up or testing any changes for Race 2. <--- seriously that is a joke and an insult to the folks paying good money, as if they will let 150 cars on track for warm up.. whatever.
Final insult was no qualifying Sunday. that meant that as I learn the track Saturday doing HPDE4, quali, race, and more DE4 sessions after race 1; no matter what my starting position Sunday in the 50 car race group was dictated by my finishing position Saturday. I'm a little too competitive to tow 700mi one way, pay that much money, and know I had little chance of showing well even in Race 2. Looking forward to seeing and hearing about the great scraps in ST2, it should be epic, especially for those that already know the track!

I am not happy about the track time at all. However, three things are keeping me in attendance:
- Never been to Barber, so it will be my new track for the year
- Family trips, graduations, college moves, etc. are putting a kink in my track schedules this year so I need to get to the track.
- Due to the above, I am doubling up with racing and time trials to get in some of my requirements for Nationals.
I guess another point is I really want to see how my car likes the ST3 tune. Running against a pack of ST3 Thunder Roadsters on a short, tight track will be a good test for us Corvette guys looking to run in the lower class.

I saw that car at BJ's the other day and I have to raise the BS flag on that one

Safety Car
The ST2 race is going to be gooood. Between Tim, Dean, Mark, Mark, Matt and Will there will be no shortage of action.
Think I'd rather see Honda Challenge in Lightning and ST3 in Thunder though.

Like Rene mentioned, Firouz #007 in the black TR with aero will be the guy to chase or will be doing the chasing with you in ST3, that is my guess. Kevin you will have your hands full on that tight of a track and he knows the track. His car does best with fast sweepers; Hard turns mean he has no torque to accelerate out. No ABS going in so don't let him beat you there Good luck and keep us posted!
