Default Group Buy on the Quikjack car lift for $995 or less

I started this thread some weeks back on the Quikjack car lift. I have seen one in person and I liked it. I plan to get one for use at the track and possibly on occasion at home.

I think I am going to buy one of these

I am going to hit up a couple of vendors to see what kind of group deal they can do, although I think interest is probably less than five units.

I think this will make work at the track so much faster and easier. For those worried about it looking spindly the car seems quite stable, but usually put wheels under the car anyway whenever I am under it. I will do the same with Quikjack.

Reply here if you are willing to commit to a buy of $995 or better by February 15th.

I'm very interested, when your saw it in person was it lifting a corvette? I'm curious if it will fit with the rubber blocks under our low cars. Also my C6 weighs 3300# +or- so its close to the weight limit.

Years ago I had something similar to this for my Top Sportsman/Quick 8 drag car and it was really nice although it was a much more robust unit.

Yes the $995 price including shipping can be had at least at two places. Depending upon how many are interested I am hoping we can save some more.

Interested - looks great and easy to use.

Considerations:
Max capacity is 3500#, Vette not much less than that, depending on model.
Lifts 18" much better than jackstands
I like the hydraulic pump, and either 120 or 12V system.

EZ Carlift capacity is 4400#
lifts 26" -- this additional 8" might make some things easier.
4" height - might not go under some really low cars unless on 2x10 first - not a show stopper.
Also almost twice the price... $1795. + 150 S&H
Uses a 3/8 electric drill to raise the lift,
cross bars might be in the way for some things, like dropping torque tube....???

need to think about it for a day or two.

I like the idea. Would like to see a little gentle push from the side to see stability though (for those uneven paddocks or people leaning on your car). May be in as well if it looks sturdy.

What is the warranty like on it as well?

Those are my concerns as well. I'm interested if it looks sturdy.

Leaning on the car or shaking it is comparable to more sturdy than the car sitting on stands in the high position.

I know, I tested it on a car at ACS a week ago.

As a rule of thumb, if I am under the car I usually slide a wheel under as wheel for additional safety, even with conventional stands.

Interested too. They say the 12V is optional, can we just hook it up to a battery or we need the generator for 110V?
I wouldn't mind a manual pumping option either if that's cheaper!

The 110v option plugs into a wall outlet or small generator. The 12v version clamps to a battery similar to jumper cables. I am not aware of any manual pumping systems. You could bring an exercise bicycle with a generator attached and manually lift it that way.

No, it was lifting a Spec Miata. Looking at the hardware and the low profile rubber pads I have no doubt it will fit under my race car. Unless your car is slammed it should work fine. Otherwise the only other alternative is to drive you car onto a couple of 2x10" wood pads to fit it underneath.

My car won't need that.

Here who is in on the Group Buy at this time:
  1. Olitho
  2. Ooldguy93
  3. Redtopz
I have one buyer from another forum as well.

I am NOT considering you in the group buy if you are "interested." You must tell me emphatically that you are "Buying" to be put on this list. There are currently eight units that will be available approximately at the middle of February timeframe. Equivocating on taxes, etc. is not a committed order. I have gotten a commitment that these units will go out for no more than $995 shipped or less if the shipping rate is less or you pick-up. California sales tax of 7.25% will apply to CA residents.

According to the specs on their web site:
* DC power unit: @2500 PSI = 125 AMPS / 1500 Watts / .40 GPM
* AC power unit: @2500 PSI = 11 AMPS / 1200 Watts / .15 GPM

That probably means a 2000W generator to makes this work on AC.
Regarding the 12V option:
1. Is the 12V version the same price as 110V?
2. Does the unit only come in 110V and you have to buy the extra 12V option?
3. Can you plug any 12V battery to the standard 110V unit?

Any idea what discount you expect? No real point in joining a group buy if it's the same price as available online.
