Feelin' a little short on pony's as compared to Hazelwood's and Branscombe's 800 or so.

With only about 420 or so to the wheels (near stock LS6) I am envious.

SCCA SPO is like NASA SU, pretty much anything goes. A lot of guys with motors illegal for GT-1 or light or just don't want to compete against National type GT-1's run SPO.

In my case the 18" wheels are illegal for GT-1 and the lil motor would not help either. My Corvette is very similar to a Trans Am 2 Camaro or GTA car but with the Vette body. It really belongs in GT-2, but as of yet only production based Corvette's are allowed there. Mine was purpose built tube frame to Grand Am Rolex GT rules of 2009.

John "Babe" Branscombe, #38 SPO Corvette, won overall in both races this past weekend at Sebring. The Hazelwood Corvette was fastest in practice on Friday cutting some 2:07's, but they had trouble with the Hewland gearbox and did not have the parts for repair so Nick was a DNS.

Second overall in the SARRC/V8StockCar race was the ex Robby Gordon Ford Fusion driven by Virginian Willie Mullins.

Third overall was our Bemco prepped Gen 5 Howe chassis Camaro with Squeak Kennedy driving. The little carbureted LS6 surprised some people with its' straight line speed.

The Bemco Ford Taurus driven by Bobby Kennedy won GTA despite being spun early and then having to drive through the field.

My Corvette suffered all weekend, not being able to pull rpm (only 4800 in the first race). Likely was a low voltage problem, so just put a good charge on the battery and ran the second race. Was better, good get it to 6000 rpm and moved from the back to about 9th overall...but then lost brakes with a couple to go and came in.

Good weekend for our other team members...me, not so much.
