Faster Track Tire: MPS2 or NT05

Racer
I have not run both. I ran the PS2 ZP's for two track events last year, stock Z size. Tires were about half life left when I bought them. Dont know total mileage as they were on the car when I bought it. With Pfadts performance street-track use with street tires alignment, I probably could have gotten one or two more events out of them, along with my daily driving miles. Hope some of that helps, probably not...

Only ran NT-05, but they were terrible in the rain with standing water (automatic hydroplane). If you are only going to only run in dry weather, I don't see a reason to run NT-05s. The NT-01s stick far better.

That's probably the worst tire I've used. There are so many better options. I enjoyed invos on my 911, and that's it. Mainly because it's awd and a daily driver. I ran 3 different sets of 555 on the vette. They were decent for handling, but lacked so much grip. I would say toyo t1r regular street tires were better than 555s.

Burning Brakes
I've run 555R II's and find the grip about equal with other 100 twr tires and they wear even and seem to take a lot of cycles before they go off. I was using Hoosiers and Michelin slicks on my Porsches and didn't expect much from the Nittos....

Which is faster? I was a fair amount quicker with the MPSS although there were some mitigating factors e.g. with the MPSS (1) temps in low 50's likely added a bit of HP (2) private day meant a lot of empty track, better concentration. I was able to really work on several glaring weaknesses and in a couple of instances I felt the improvement was substantial. Perhaps most importantly, empty track meant no red mist (3) this may be strange but felt I had better throttle control wearing Saucony sneakers that day instead of Simpson race shoes (4) instructor (2012 SCCA spec Miata champ) had me take very different line thru slowest corner. It felt slow but shorter distance may have outweighed it
How long did each last? NT05's were shot after 6 1/2 days. Might have had a bad batch as others have had better experiences. Only 1day so far on MPSS
What sizes did you run? NT05s 295/35/18 and 335/30/19; MPSS 285/35/18 and 345/30/19

I ordered the 295 fronts to replace my 285 NT05. I'm hoping this will help in some sweepers and give me some better braking capabilities.
Glad to see you ran the 295/335 18/19 combo without issues. I'm a little concerned on how they will do at Auto Club Speedway in 9 days. Enter the banked roval at 156 and carry min of 120 thru it ....... hope they don't rub and kick me into the wall

Easy answer - buy PSS and then change the PSS classing to be the same or lower than the 140-200TW tires. Or maybe in the other order
The PSS may be faster than the NT05, but is slower than any "good" 140-200TW tire, such as the Hankook RS3, BFG Rival, Yoko AD08R or Dunlop ZII. The NT05 is not a competitive tire in any of the "street tire" based series that spec a minimum treadwear that is between 140 and 200, so you might want to avoid using it as a benchmark tire.

Thanks for your input.
I looked and could not find any 140-199 tires in C6Z06 sizes. I think I checked those you are mentioning. If you know otherwise please let me know.

I think you are mostly out of luck with the C6Z, at least on the stock 19" wheel. Not all of those even have a good C5Z fitment. The Rival would probably work if you got 18" wheels but I am not sure if I would recommend them highly.
But just downgrade the points on the PSS and buy those
