Default How to get urethane c6 bushings to articulate better

They were too tight at first, milled them a hair and greased me up real we'll but car still doesn't feel like the suspension is working properly. Any ideas?

How do you feel the suspension isn't working right? Can you hear the suspension creaking? Or, just is it stiffer than you think it should be?

Seems much stiffer. And the handling sucks. It's almost like you have to break stiction before you get suspension movement.

Well, poly does have the reputation of binding, but mainly due to a lack of lubrication, which you've taken care of. Have you checked the steel spacers that the bushings float on?

HTH, and have a good one,

Well I don't know. I guess I need to pull it apart again. It just seemed like the bushings were way too big for the subframe. I cut a bunch off the outer surface and sanded the control arm race the first time. I also had to grind the pins but left them longer than the bushings of course. I must just need to trim the urethane even more

Binding is way overblown on here. My race car has had polys since '11. I've never re-lubed them. Car works fine on track. Suspension moves freely when I move it, but will stick in whichever position I put it. There simply isn't enough "sticktion" to limit movement when there's a 3000lb car cornering at 1.5 Gs. My $0.02.

With all the effort during the initial install it doesn't sound like pfadt or even vbp. Ive heard some brands can be fairly nasty in the quality dept.

Bought from lg. I think they are actually Vbp. I hear you on stiction and on hot Hoosiers it's not a big deal. They overcome it. Mostly. But cold they don't move especially over bumps and the frame and sidewall become the only suspension. That is not cool. At all. And on the street either.

Go back to stock or spherical bearings. Just try to corner balance your car with poly's. Almost impossible.

man that is really tempting. not cheap though. you don't think with proper clearancing the polys will be good?

they were great on my c4.... but that is a very different set of arcs.

Make sure the rest of your car/setup is right and go run it. My bet it it's not the polys. There is no way there's enough friction created to make the suspension not move over bumps. Unless you used epoxy to lube them instead of the right stuff!

We'll after pulling them apart again it was definitely the bushings. My advise is to custom sand and fit any bushings you get and lube properly before install. I had to take over 1/8 " off the length and probably had to ream .05 or so inner diameter. WAY off.

Once they would turn on the pin by hand and would fit inside the pin caps i lubed them up, reinstalled and the car operates correctly instead of being a skittery death trap. There is still no significant end play.
