New tires suggestions
I just purchased a new set of wheels for my 2013 C6 coupe. Now I am looking for a set of tires to wrap them with. I currently have the standard Goodyear Eagle F1 tires that came stock but want an upgrade. So far I have been looking into the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires. But, I wanted to get your opinion. Since I live in So Cal, there is no real threat to driving in any kind of snowy conditions. If I saw snow in So Cal, I would be moving... From what I've read the AS3 seems like a good all around tire, but wanted to get some of your opinions to see if there was something better for warm climate driving? Mostly I want ride comfort, traction, quiet tires that will last more than 15k miles.

Since your in So CA, I would put on Pilot Super Sports
They work great in the rain and will be the best for warm weather....
I have AS3s on the 97' & PSSs on the 00' right now.
The AS3s have a cold weather compound, the PSSs not so much.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the choice would be good with either the PSS or AS3 tire. While I do not foresee the need for any snow protection, do you think the extra 200 in UTQG tread wear rating is something to toss aside? Or is that more less a byproduct of the cold weather compound?

The added life the PSAS3 has over the Super Sport comes from the all season runner compound it uses but, both are great choices. The all-season Piot Sport AS3 has been tested against some summer performance tires like the Extreme Contact DW, the Nitto Invo and some others when it was first introducedand it was the better performer dry and wet. Add into that better tread life and unless you're doing track days and autoX it's a great choice. The Super Sport would be the better choice if you do any track days or autoxing.

Sweet, thanks!
As I am still waiting for the wheels I will make sure to place the order prior to 3/1/14 to get the rebate.

Just received my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. WOW, those things are sticky! I'll be having them mounted on Saturday. Can't wait for the weekend!

Hey. I like the Nitto Invo tire a lot. They make the wheels stick like glue to the road and handle way better then those GY runcraps. I'm actually selling my Reproduction Black ZR-1 Wheels and Nitto Invo tires if interested. Stock Sizes. About 1000 miles on them. Located in Simi Valley,CA.I know you you said you got new wheels but you never know!!
