Default New Tire Suggestions

Hey guys, This is my very first post! I have a 2004 z06 with 606 rwhp and I am blowing off the BFG KDWs that are 295/35/18 in 1st, 2nd and through almost all of 3rd gear and they still have plenty of tread.

I plan on getting a 305/35/18 for the rear but I hear so many different things about different tires. I will not be driving in the rain or snow so I just need something that is gonna stick.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Nitto NT555 rII tires but don't really see a big difference between those and the regular NT555r except that the tread depth is lower at 5/32 vs 6/32. Are they better for grip?

Also, where do the Nitto NT01 and NT05 fit in?

I appreciate the help!

Toyo R888 in a 305-35-18? I don't have them yet, but plan on using them for a 4.10 geared car with 400whp.

This is how I would rank those tires

NT01 > R888 > NT555

I would like to undersand exactly what you intend to use the tires for. Track, street, show, dry, all-weather??? For what "most" forum members use their C5Z06 for (street and drag strip in good weather only) I would recommend the Nitto NT-05 front tire, and the Nitto NT-05 DRAG Radial for a rear tire. They won't last long, but the people who use that combination only drive a few hundred to a thousand miles per year.

Personally I run Michelin PSS on the street and scrub slicks for the track on dedicated wheels.
