Question about DRM/Quantum Brake Duct Setup! HELP!!
Hi guys, I've got the DRM Brake Duct extensions and the Quantum Spindle kit. My question is that the outer diameter of the DRM part is 3.5 inches whereas the outer diameter of the Quantum piece is 3 inches. I tried using 3.5 diameter high temp hose to connect the two, but when I clamped the 3" section the metal coil ripped through the hose. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a good solution? Thanks for your help!

There is two options
1. Use the 3.5 hose and remove a few of the metal coils. Then put it on the spindle duct, having a extra flap shouldn't hurt a thing. After you clamp it down.
2. Find some adapter from the hardware store to go from 3.5 to 3 inch.

Thanks Randy, I just replaced the ducts this past weekend and I did what you mentioned by cutting the coils. I feel a little better about it now.

Burning Brakes
I made my own adapter. At auto parts store, bought a short length of 3" exhaust. Cut it to make two pieces, about 4 in long each. Then to turn each into an 'adapter' I wrapped one end with several loops of 1in adhesive backed header/heat tape to build up its OD to 3.5 in. Been using for about 5 years - works like a champ.

I met Jon at the end of last season at the track. And he said the waymost handle it is to slit a 3"turn e and expand/clamp/tape the end over DRM 3.5" outlet. Or the reverse down to his 3" inlet. Ill be using my 3.5" hose slit and overlapped on mine when I finally install it this month.
