Default Drag Radial question...

I have a question! Im looking to go with a different rear tire for the track. I had a 305/35/18 Hoosier and a 305/35/18 MT, Both were 25"... I want to get a little more height without any problems.

I was looking at the 295/45/17 MT "I think its 27" and I was also looking into drag radial sizes 275/40/17 which seem to be 26" tall.

Im running front calipers in the rear with front Z51 rotors so 17" is the smallest i can go. The car is making 600/575 N/A with a RPM stage 6 4L65 A4 and a built C6Z 3.42 diff. Car has gone 10.50's @ 130 with 305/35/18 Hoosiers with a 1.5X 60' not using the trans brake. The car has more in it. What do you guys think?

305/35/18 MT DR is a 26.4 inch tall tire
315/30/18 Hoosier DR is a 26 in (I dont think hoosier made a 305/35/18 in a Drag Radial)

With that said im planning on running the stock c5z 17in wheels with a 315/35/17 which is a 25.6 in tire and i make alittle over 600rwhp

A buddy of mine cut a 1.4x on the 315/35/17 hoosier

Not bad, Yea... Seems you would be quicker down the strip with the shorter tire
