Default Throttle Blip Controller - Pivot 3-Drive BLP

It’s not the same rev matching as the C7 but may be the best alternative. I ordered one and will have it next month. I looked at ordering the Auto Blip. Hopefully I will have Pivot 3-Drive BLP working and repost next month when I get it. Until then if you all would read up and let me know what you think til then. Price is $280 shipped It looks very cool.

Well I purchased the Pivot BLP and as soon as it was connected to the APSA and APSB wires it caused a fault code with the Active Handling and Traction Systems. If failed but not for lack of trying.

Curious as to why you didn't order the Auto-Blip? In past threads it seemed to work pretty good.

I tried something that electronically was better IMO. Controlling both Throttle control and Throttle Blip ability. The Pivot device works on many Import cars but failed to work with the Corvette BCM. I sold it to a friend who has a Nissan 350Z which it works quiet well on.

My next project is the Auto-Blip with LGM shifter **** aka "Man ****". Instead of the clutch pedal switch controlling the throttle blip I am going to adapt the LGM **** with a Momentary switch and 30 amp relay to allow throttle blip when the button is pushed. This will allow me to control when the throttle blip is done. I should have it installed and running next month.

This isn't meant as a dig, but why the use of a switch as opposed to using it the way it was designed?

I have one and love it on the road course....

Just curious on the button idea...

Thanks

The switch is to control when I want the throttle blip. The clutch switch control does not allow me that control. The throttle blip is not needed for every downshift IMO. I'll post my results when installed.

I have the auto-blip and it works great.
Still be interested to how your switch works, and your install.

Finished building the harness. Clutch, Brake and Accel harnesses built with quick disconnects. More to come when the shifter switch gets here.

I have it on my C5Z and it works great. As far as needing a button to control the blip mine is not connected to the clutch but to the shifter. So what that means is that when you want to shift and blip you move the shifter to the next LOWER gear and the blip is initiated. It does not occur with up shifts. No button needed since your shifter acts as the button. As long as foot is on brake AND clutch the blip is initiated. It seems you may be in the Tampa area. If you are interested go see my mechanic in Clearwater, FL. I can connect you up with him. He was the one that modified the Auto Blip with the manufacturer to make it work in a C5. I am certain he can do the same for the C6.

Not being mean or anything but it seems you are attempting to reinvent the wheel of sorts here. If you want it off for DD then turn off power to AutoBlip.

I hope this helps.

P.S. When I get it back from the shop (getting new diff and coil overs) I would happy to take you for a ride.

I used it for 3 days at VIR this past weekend and it worked flawlessly with the standard setup. I guess if you are down shifting in the paddock I could see where you don't need it every time but on the track it seems to function properly as designed. I am at high rpms come to a braking zone and down shift the throttle blips to rev match and all is well. Even if I have to come down two gears it just blips twice for each.

Can you explain the scenario you are trying to customize its operation for, perhaps that will help me to understand

Why not just learn to heel-toe for all the effort you're going through? I practice on the streets and after a few months have finally gotten my heel-toe technique working well at the track

Blame it on the feet lol, in his case he got some big un's. Size 15 I believe, so it's too cramped for him to move them around under there.

neat gadget but heel&toe banging down gears at the end of the straight is part of my enjoyment.
I have the same thought when slipper clutch became common on sportbikes, I like to blip my own throttle. If the rear wheel starting to back out at the corner entry, that's part of the fun

Little off topic but do you have any video from group 3 from the past VIR weekend with the CG ZR1? I didn't run a camara this weekend. Thanks

What w00tw said...Heal/toe is a critical part of the experience.
