Default Where to Autocross Near Raleigh

I would've posted this in Regional, but I seem to get better response here.

I think I'd like to try auto-X, but I don't know where to go that's a reasonable (<60 min) drive from the Raleigh area.

How much does it cost to participate and how many runs can one expect?

Look up Tarheel Sports Car Club. THSCC

I came up through their DE ladder, but there is a very healthy Autocross side to the club and most of the members are out of the Raleigh area. The club was founded on Autocrosses in 1964.

Thanks. On your suggestion I looked and saw they have an event coming up in May at NCCAR. I'll probably sign up for that.

2020 C5 of the Year Finalist - Modified

Default Zmax SCCA April 5th Autocross

There is a great venue at Zmax dragway in the super large pit parking area this coming weekend via SCCA Carolinas Region.
I will be there with a couple of my buddies in our old school C2s.
It's worth the ride down .
:
You get 4 runs & cost is approx $ 50

I watched your video and it indeed looks like tons of fun. That's the good news. The bad news is that, although it may well be worth the ride down from Lake Norman to Concord, the six hour round trip from Wake Forest for eight minutes (total) of fun would need to accompany two tix to NASCAR or a drag event to make it worth the trip. Not that that cannot be arranged!!!!

You might want to check out the North Carolina Region SCCA
due to their geographic spread they have 3 chapters -- and one is in Raleigh.

I second the suggestion for the Tarheel Sports Car Club. I started autocrossing and tracking my 2004 Z06 last March and instantly joined the club. It is a great group to start out with too because the atmosphere is fun and laid back while also offering some serious competition. We have a number of Novice Coordinators that will help you as much as you want, including riding shotgun with you to give you pointers. The NCCAR event is great and very Corvette friendly, as we get to set-up part of the course on the race track. I will be there for the next event, driving up from Clayton, NC. PM me if you have any questions.
