Has anyone cut out the rear inner fenders?

isn't it just the frame right behind the plastic inner liner? i guess if you remove the liner, you get 1/8" more clearance?

I haven't; but I have a rough idea in my head (that could only work if I was running straight pipes) that the bottom of the rear inner fender could be modified to vent pressure back through the holes at the bottom of the rear bumper. Instead of pulling in the rear bumper like the C7R, of course the rear splitter is there directing air as well.
So, I'm curious to see where this goes.

You will get an unhealthy hit in your lb/hp ratio if you ever compete in NASA. Otherwise, there are mini-tub kits available. It is just a fiberglass liner, nothing structural.

Not the actual inner fender, just the plastic liner inside the wheel well. It's between the tire and the actual fiberglass fender

The actual inner fender is part of the rear tub that sits on top of the frame and supports the rear quarter panels and rear bumper. The inner fender liners just keep mud and debris from the tires getting up into unwanted areas. I cut out a section of the inner fender liner adjacent to the frame rail on each side which provided I think about an extra 1/2" of tire clearance on the inside.

I actually removed mine because I used the space right behind the rear wheels for my trans and diff coolers. I installed stainless steel grill material over them to protect from rubber and rocks but essentially I have air flow through them and out the vents in the rear bumper.

I gave LG specific mods and info on my car and they gave me 700/700. But yet I see cars with no aero with the same spring rates, so you just confirmed my questioning...what rate do you use?

Did you add more holes to vent? That thing is a parachute

I didn't actually. My thought was with the restriction created by the coolers the amount of surface area for air flow was reduced and therefore the stock vents would be adequate.
I'm planning on doing a C7-R style diffuser later in the year so when I do that I might cut the lower portion of the rear bumper off so it will be a moot point.
