888's on track
My first track day on Toyo 888's is coming up.
2012 ZO6. Camber kit went on today, alignment next week.
Looking for -3f/-1.75r, castor and tow as the Phadt chart shows.
The car will be DE only, trailered always
The Toyo website says the sweet spot is 32-38psi hot. That's quite a spread. 160-220 degrees.
What have you all experienced with pressure or temps and am I ok to assume start them cold about 10psi lower?
I'm thinking go out cold with 26psi, work up to 36psi and see what I like but where do you guys see the grip going away?
We are talking all DE road course stuff.

I have used 3 sets of 888's and I like hot temps around 32 up to 34lbs. Anything higher than 36 and the tires get real greasy. If you trailer your car, have you thought about running Hoosiers?

Sounds like 32f/34r hot might be the spot but Toyo does say up to 38.
Of course the only real definitive check is even temps across the face.

just did my 3rd track day on my r888s. they are 295/335 set up on 18x11 and 18x13 rims. I started them at 26 front and 27 rear pressure... Hot temps where 34-35... They got a little greasy but for the most part they took care of business.

What alignment do you have??

My alignment is a little less aggressive up front and I am running -2.6F and -1.8R. Works well for both street and track.
The 888's always seem to have a slight push on long sweepers but with this last alignment it seems to have improved slightly.

I also run the 888s and have found them very good. I start with 27 front, 28 rear looking for somewhere around 35 hot. I run 315x30x18 front and 335x30x10 on CCW 11 and 13 rims. Good tire but will be switching to Hoosiers soon. I guess they have a good 50% tread life remaining, so I will be selling them. pm if interested.
