Default 79 White Corvette for Sale - reposting

Hello,

This is the 2nd time I have listed the car for sale. I waffled back and forth the first time since I could not determine whether or not I wanted to keep the car.

Now after my mother's recent death, I have come to the realization that I need to make myself happy while I am still here. I have wanted a classic truck for a long time and I am in need of a project to help me to refocus and get back to a sense of normalcy. In order to do that I need to get rid of a car. I have decided on that to be the Corvette.

I have listed below information on the car and a link for some pictures. Today I will get the car back from the shop after getting a caliper replaced and a new hose near the passenger side of the gas tank. The other hose had rotted out.

My mechanic is saying that the non-factory rims on the back should be replaced since they are slightly bent.

Feel free to email me @ edwardl301@aol.com

I am in the Bowie, MD area. I normally keep the car garaged in an off site storage location. However it will be at my home from this point on.

Here is the information.

79 vette for sale (selling as is):
===================
• $4,500 (paid $12,000 for the car back in 2009; not trying to
make a profit. I believe this is the same asking price I had mentioned before.)
• 350 small block
• Automatic
• White outside; black interior
• T-tops
• Tinted windows
• Security system
• 82 front and rear fascia
• Flowmaster exhaust system (summer of 2011)

Reason for selling:
• Lost desire to work on the car
• More at home with my mid size cars
• Impulse purchase
• Would rather put the money into a classic truck

What I have done
• Changed engine oil
• Changed differential oil
• Replaced alternator
• Replaced radiator (aluminum)
• Replaced fan shroud
• Replaced spark plugs and wires (currently yellow JEG wires – 8.5 mm)
• Replaced fuel pump; fuel filter within carb; associated
fuel filter hoses; and fuel line to carb
• Replaced heater hoses
• Replaced the low frequency horn
• Replaced the battery
• Added hose shut off valve
• Added two cheap speakers in the back
• Replaced the moulding in the area of the rear portion of
the windows
• Replaced the protective mesh under the hood

What is wrong with the car:
• Prior owner-installed radio has no bass control;
therefore there is a “tinny” sound
• High beam indicator on the instrument panel is on when low
beam lights are on
• High beam indicator on the instrument panel is off when the
high beam lights are on
• Driver side kick panel needs to be replaced
• Steering wheel horn has never worked (actual horns were
tested with a jumper wire and are working; have not
replaced the horn relay)
• The rear right wheel wobbled. The mechanic has fixed that by replacing the caliper. It was full of debris. He still believes that both rear non-standard wheels are slightly bent and should be replaced.
• Car was originally equipped with AC; I purchased the car
with the compressor bracket; but no compressor
• Crack in windshield (my fault for trying to close the hood
with a tape measure between it and the glass)
• Left turn signal works and blinks; right turn signal works; but does not blink. The light just illuminates and stays constant.
• Driver’s side portion of the hood does not sit down flush.
Some times that same side will pop up from the hinge and
open when driving.
• Noticed on 8/11/2013 that there is a slight oil leak. Have not
determined the cause yet.
