That would be a very nice '74-'76, in my opinion. With that price range though, you could be looking at a big block '74, or a very nice convertible?

My cousin has a 1977 L82 AT under 40,000 miles for sale.
Very good condition, excellent mechanical. We discussed it at lunch today, actually.
You two are close enough in my opinion to warrant a discussion if you are interested in an automatic.

I have a 76 with dlx interior and factory 4 spd. I have owned it for the past 10 yrs or so. It is a great drive with a repaint that was done about 19 yrs ago original color. I would call the paint work average and has the chips from years of use. It shines up great, I have taken it to local car shows but paint is not show level. Front and rear suspension was rebuilt including trailing arms, brakes rebuilt, GMPP 350HO with rpm manifold, BG 650 dbl pumper and ceramic coated Hooker headers, DeWitt rad, Al Knoch dash pads, door panels, A pillers and carpet. Now has about 135K documented miles. Receipts going back to when it was almost new. I'm the 4 owner. Bought in Seattle, then moved to the desert of central Washington. I don't drive it much any more so planned to put it up for sale this spring. Have the original motor, carb air filter housing and plug wire shielding. If your still looking and you don't mind it's half way across the country let me know.

I have a 76 stingray that I've been helping a friend with, now he wants to sell it. It's a driver but does need work as it's been sitting for a while. It's 350 with an automatic.
