I did one of these back in 89 - yours is looking way better than mine did. Keep those pictures coming, it's looking great!

The interior semi gloss is Dupli-color, acrylic laquer, from any automotive store, it is a shaker can and I find they work really well.

Here's todays update. Have put the body into prime and on the chassis.
Next it is to get painted, polished, and all the final assembly and trims.
This is going to take awhile, so watch for my updated post on this thread to see, hopefully all turns out OK.
Thanks for watching.

Looks great Sarge It's like doing a real one. I did the same kit back in the 70's. Unfortunately, after 2 kids the car got ruined somewhere along the way.

Looks great I have one of those kits (the later blue "Metal-Flake" release) that's been sitting here in the original packaging forever. I've been meaning to Ebay-it, but maybe I'll get motivated to build it after viewing this thread.

They are alot of fun, being such a big scale. It has nicer detail and parts seem to be a little more realistic, due to the size. You should give it a try.

Thanks Mike, I know that they cannot ship shaker cans over the border to Canada. I have this paint, soooooo, I am going to give it a try.
BTW, that price is not too bad, compared to what we have to pay here for custom mixed shakers.
Thanks again.

Mike, not sure if it is just paint, I don't think any aresol canned products are supposed to be mailed across the border to Canada. I have alot of problems trying to get lacquers over here, it is a banned substance here now.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I know that here in the U.S. aerosol cans have to go by ground (UPS, USPS Parcel Post, Fedex Ground, etc.) for obvious reasons. I wonder why they can't go into Canada as long as they're shipped via ground.

Which primer are you using? I used to use Tamiya brand white primer on all my builds but now the US banned it because its label is in Japanese and the company refuses to relabel in English. Long story short i need a new brand and yours looks pretty smooth.

NVM i just found a new release that they are relabling to try and conform to the infernal EPA. However i do need suggestions on a good primer for use between duplicolor and plastics and to keep other harsher lacquers from eating styrene.

I'm not sure if it'll fit your uses, but Duplicolor makes white primer.

I will be updated this post soon, I have been a little sick again, and not able to work on it. I will be getting back to it soon, sorry guys for the wait.
As for the primer, if you are asking me, I used Dupli-color automotive primer.

Here is the link to the final build, for Renwaltoys.
The paint was Tremclad Tranquil Yellow. I was not really happy with the finish and might recommend finding a lacquer paint to match, if you can. But the Tremclad was the closest I could find.
