Default 1965 1/8 scale build

Mar. 08/11 update

Just a couple of pics, to show the color, I am going with.

Update: I will be adding to this post as I progress,
by updating new pics and info.
So follow along until complete.
I can't change the heading, so this way I will just keep posting on this thread.
So, just scroll down the posts, to see the new pics, thank you.

Starting to build the 65 coupe Monogram model. This was the copyright 1975 version #2600.
Thought I would post the build of what I have, so far.
I will be updating the post as I progress.
This is the first Big Scale I have done. So far, it has been alot of fun.

Looks good so far!

The nice thing about bigger scale models is that they look good straight out of the box, yet their size allows the builder to add as much detail as they want to without going blind.

Super! Once you get bit with the 1/8 scale bug, its always in your blood. Be prepared for more builds. Those cars are just like an blank canvas, it takes me forever to complete a car. All the different ways to detail/customize get me distracted.

When I made my 1/8 Grand Sport, one thing I wish I'd have done was detail the engine more. There was a guy who was going to make some Webers for me in 1/8, but he never came though with them. Since I don't display anything with the hood open, I concentrated more on getting the body to look right.

A couple questions for you.....
Did you use real rubber hoses for the radiator hoses? They look real. How are you painting the black in the interior? The semi gloss finish looks really convincing!
I am excited to see what the body will look like.

I can nose in and help with that part...the Monogram/Revell 1/8 kits come with a length of rubber hose. It allows the builder to cut radiator hoses to the right length.
