What would you sell it for without the box?

I'm thinking about listing it on eBay with a starting bid around 400, with no reserve. Thanks for asking.

yeah, probably wider market. I just haven't had the time to build the listing. I'll try to work on it soon. Just wanted to see if anyone wanted it here first. I'm thinking about discounting it further for a local pick-up, since I won't have to ship it. thanks again. It really is a nice model. I just sold the last few to a neighbor, but, mostly Fords. This is one of the last that I have and probably the nicest.

Buy a low price C2 Franklin Mint Vette off of ebay. I bet you can pick one up for $30-$45. Then use that box with the paper work with the Astro Vette. I am guessing the box will work on any C2 coupe and you would get maximum money for your Astro Vette. The maximum price for the Astro Vette should more than offset the $30-$45 cost for the other Vette.

That will help somewhat, if nothing else it'll assure a potential buyer that the car will be shipped securely. Unfortunately to get maximum dollar the original Diecast Reproductions box would be needed along with the correctly-ID'd white outer FM shipping box. Yours is a good idea though, better than just shipping the car without an FM box at all.

Reserves are bid-killers, avoid using a reserve if at all possible. The last one on Ebay, with packaging, sold for $485. Make it a fixed-price listing with a $450 price and make it clear in the listing that the packaging is for an FM '69 Vette but not that one. Add a "Best Offer" option and go from there. You might get a taker at $450 but if not you'll get offers that you can live with for slightly less.
