I purchased a Hot Wheels 1:18 silver C6 diecast. I want to take apart and repaint it Cyber Gray Metallic. For you model builders who have done this, is there any prep to be done or do I just paint over the silver?
Also, are there any sites to buy 1:18 C6 decals?

Some people just scuff the existing paint and spray over it. I prefer to strip down to the metal then prime, paint, and clear. It's just whatever works for you.

After dis assembly strip the body with brake cleaner, sand with 600-1500 W/D and fill as needed if need be.

Degrease well, warm both Primer and Paint under Hot Water to get paint to flow....Then practice until you get the spray cans down before spraying the car.
