Default 1964 Stingray Coupe build

Hi all,

I thought I'd share the buildup of my 1964 Stingray coupe replica. This started life as the Monogram 1/24 scale 1965 coupe that I'd built up many years ago (red exterior). It was missing parts, and wasn't very well done.

Flash forward probably 15 years and we bought a 1:1 64 to restore, so I decided to rebuild this model and backdate it to replicate our car as it was before restoration. I started by fully disassembling the 65, grafting the fender gills from a 63 snap kit to the 65 body, and modifying the hood:

I also borrowed the door panels and seats from the 63 snap kit to complete the interior, along with some photoetch detail pieces and Ken's fuzzy fur flocking:

After many hours, final assembly is near...

Finished product!

The real deal:

I hope you've enjoyed this...I certainly did! In case you're wondering, this is how the 1:1 looks today:

...and yes, there's an "after" replica in the works too!

That looks great!! Nice deep black finish on it.

What wheels are you using on the in-progress one?

Thanks guys!

Hawk312. Those knock off wheels are from a different Monogram 65 kit. It's red in the box art and has the bubble hood. Those wheels are very very nicely done!

I have an extra Revell 1/24 '65 kit (red plastic) if you need another one.
