Schwinn Corvette Bicycle - C2 Corvette Tribute
Hi All - I made a custom tribute to the '67 L71 from a 1967 Schwinn Lightweight bicycle. If you're a cycling fan in addition to loving the C2 then have a look at it on eBay. Thanks and if interested let me know and I can provide add'l detail.

My first Corvette was a Schwinn Corvette. Later in life I found and restored one to add to my collection. I took it to a show once and someone thought they needed it marathon me so they now own it and I made a nice profit.
I'll see if I can find a picture of it. The real ones are 'midlweight' bikes.

this bike was originally built in 1957. (they did have date codes on Schwinns.)
My first one was candy apple red, but I had better luck painting this one black.

I had a Candy Apple Red one in 1955. It was a Christmas gift from my parents. I wanted an "English racer". I was disappointed, but struggled by with that excellent Schwinn anyway. It was a 3 speed IIRC, but it wasn't one of those skinny tired English bikes. The old man kept reminding me that he had paid $91 for it. A small fortune for a kids bike in those days. What great memories! Gave it to the little brother of my best friend around 1962 after I discovered cars and girls, and the last I saw it he had ditched the chrome fenders, the chain guard and the whitewall tires.

Here's a C2, 1962 Schwinn Corvette. Radiant Blue 5 speed stick.
Chicago Schwinn only had two generations of the Corvette so this would be considered the 2nd gen.
