Default 1953 Vette.. Danbury Mint or Franklin Mint

I received the brochure from Danbury Mint regarding the 1953 Vette and was wondering if the Danbury Mint 1953 Die Cast is better than the Franklin Mint. Any opinions would be welcomed! Thanks ..

I think the Danbury is the best of the two.

I think the Danbury is the best of the two.
:iagree: I have both and the Danbury is by far the better of the two. Much more detail for about the same price.

I got the same brochure and I think I'll order one. I thought about it and figure anyone who collects diecast Corvettes should have a 53 in the collection. You know, you're showing someone your collection you can say, this is the first Corvette.

Isn't the Danbury '53 a limited edition and the Franklin is just a regular edition. That's why I bought the Danbury and the detail is amazing.
I agree, you have to have a '53 if you are collecting Corvettes.

Default 1953 Danbury Mint white corvette collectible

I am going through my husband's (recently deceased) collectibles - there are a lot of corvettes, and I do have a white corvette collectible if someone is looking to buy one.

Danbury Mint cars are by far the better diecast. I have about 25 Corvette's of their's and they are all outstanding models. Very detailed in many ways. The quality is better than most of the Franklin Mint. Don't get me wrong, FM does put out some fine models but you need to be very careful in selecting which ones to buy. My only complaint about DM is that they do not make any of the later C5 and C6 cars. I have contacted them several times trying to get some newer cars made but so far nothing has been produced. The realism for the Corvette's are outstanding. I think the best on the market.

I have a few of the Danbury diecasts (Vettes & Muscle Cars) which I think look better and have better detailing than the Franklin dicasts I have seen.
