About what should a 400 rwhp car trap?
wondering what it should trap at in a Z06 6 speed. is it possible to have a low ET and low MPH? Doesn't the mph stay pretty standard even if you spin like crazy at the start.
The reason I ask is because there is another Z on the forum with numbers similar to mine with fewer mods, but his torque numbers are showing over 20 RWTQ peak over mine, but his ET is 12.43 at 113.8 mph. I thought the Z's stock trapped about 117, so I just figured with his setup it would have been higher. I'm not huge into drag racing yet, but I figured you guys would know.

The C5Z06 is a traction-limited manual-tranny car. Both ET and trap speed will depend on the driving quality to launch the car, attain correct shift points, and keep the power hooked through the shifts. A well-driven Z06 will out accelerate one with 50 more horsepower and torque piloted by an average driver. I've watched a lot of stock C5Z run at the drag strip on stock tires. Traps vary in the range of 108-118, depending on driving quality. Weather and track conditions also play a role.

My best is 119.65 but that was not my best E.T.

The accuracy of the timing lights at the finish line is also an issue. At Union Grove Dragaway, my car runs 2-3 mph faster in the left lane than the right lane...even if the et's are within 0.01 or 0.02 seconds.
My car always runs a slower mph in the left lane at National Trails in Columbus. The speed is always a lot faster in the right lane at Pittsburgh.
Remember that all Corvettes have a low ground clearance in the front. This is offset by the fact that you are going through the traps with the nose in the air and the front end higher than normal. You may be tripping one timer with the bumper fascia and one timer with the front wheel.
In my opinion, the et is much more accurate than the speed at any track. The et is measured over a distance of 1320 feet. The speed is measured over a distance of only 66 feet.

I trapped 119.79 mph with only 364 RWHP when I still had the 383 & 5-speed in my '68.. ET was 11.67 at that time..
