Hey, who needs those damn high tech stainless V-clamps when good ol' Home Depot PVC pipe has threaded end caps and works just fine?!

I'll add one more to your list Dan, Old Bridge Speedway, it was a paved circle track that used one of the straights for drag racing on Friday nights IIRC, and it was only 1/16 mile. Only ran there a few times, but fun anyways. Also hit Harmony a couple of times for some 1/8 mile fun, but mostly hit RP, Atco and Island when time and money allowed.
Strato Rods was a very fun place too, never very crowded and loved the concrete surface, traction was great. It was an old runway at McGuire AFB if I remember right. Man, those were fun times!
(I guess I'm dating myself,,,,,,LOL)

Default Westhampton Drag Strip

In the late 80's and early 90's I spent most Sunday's at Hampton Raceway. Not exactly a state of the art facility, but it was lots of fun.

The most unique place I ever raced was the now-closed Sunset Drag Strip near Mercer PA. The track was a 1/8 mile track in a "cow pasture" on the farm of a gentleman named Alex Theopholis (sp). The place operated from 1959 to Alex's death in 2012. Google it to check it out.

At "The Hamptons" in 1980. This SS/H car was campaigned there, and at surrounding tri state tracks that are also now defunct, from early 70's, through-1983.Not much of any amenities there for sure , but quite the "money betting crowd" in the stands.
(Here was a "dry hop" before staging)

growing-up near Keystone Raceway Park (now Pittsburgh Raceway Park), in New Alexandria, I'd heard about Sunset, but never ventured there before leaving for Florida in '06:
had a some buddies who'd gone there, and even won a few times

the also raced at New Bethlem (spelling?), also known as 'Newby'

Glensgages,

Thanks for the link. I had seen some of this but not all. The old pictures taken by the owner are priceless. From the back up burnout box to the short shutdown area ending into a stand of trees this place was like racing in the twilight zone!

these are photos of what began as a 1/4-mile strip, shortened to 1/8-mile in Fairmont, West Virginia,
originally named 'Eldora Raceway', then 'Fairmont Dragway'

above, the startine line, looking down-track ~ pits on the Right, spectators to the Left

this is from the 'top' of the return road, looking back at the starting line ~ the bleachers seen in the 1st photo are seem here at far-Right

seen here while still open, the view from the tower reveals cars that, like Sunset, had to back-up to do their burnouts

looking from the back of the staging lanes, which ran downhill (convenient) towards the tower

a close-up of that tower, a few years after it closed

here is a picture of the staging lanes as the land became an industrial park, with the burnout boxes now covered in fresh grass:
note telephone pole, leaning to Left, in these photos, shows location of now-gone tower

I recently found a few old (EXTREMELY large) pictures of my Z28 competing at the track, circa 1992-1993, and the rear-engine dragster I briefly raced in 1996

I was told the track, built on the site of a former amusement park, opened in 1964, hosted several Top Fuel events in the 1960's under various sanctioning bodies:
by the late 1980's, it had become an 1/8-mile, NHRA track, and closed after the 2000 season
