Default MT ET Street Radial II vs ET Street which hook better?

I'm looking at MT ET Street Radial II 28X11.50R17 vs the ET Street 26X11.5X17 anyone know which will hook better? I have a 2007 Z51 MN6 around 600 whp (ECS SC 15 psi). I was thinking that the Street Radial would hook better because of the hight therefore effectively increasing my gear ratio.

I think you have it backwards. Smaller diameter tire = increased gear ratio. I would assume in most cases, a bias ply would hook harder than a radial.

on both accounts. smaller tire= higher gear ratio, bias hook better than radial, but I have heard a lot of good things about the radial.

Since you got a stick, go with the ET streets. Almost all the fast guys with a stick run the bias ply ET Street.

I have heard the bias ply is a little easier on the drive train for the stick drivers.

From what I "hear" The ET Street absorbs the drive line shock a bit better since the tire has a bit more flexible sidewall.

I meant decreasing the number increasing the length of gears. I'm guessing it must be sucky track prep then. I just don't understand why they don't make ET Streets in 28 inch.

You will get a better 60' with a shorter tire than a taller tire - assuming traction is the same.

They do make ET Streets in 28", unfortunately just not in 17". 28 x 11.50-16

I dont know what the Z06 stick guys use, but for the ls2 and ls3 sticks, the fastest i think for sticks are on ET Streets. Auto's is a completely different story, where DR's rulz.

I saw the C5 Z06 Fast List......stock class, stock-cai/dr's class, and of course yours. What makes the C5 Z06 so stinking faster than the regular C6 with similar hp? I know DA has some to do with it (been to MIR myself ) but I still was amazed at the times. I had to put on cai, headers, tune, dr's to manage a 11.79 with my C6 A6 at MIR.

And who holds the record for the stock fastest longblock + power adder (just so happens to be a 6 speed too)? 10.12 @ 136 1.44 60' on ET Streets

Just playin Gary.... Actually, I have not tried DR's. Maybe I should

ATNB, you don't count since you're an auto guy.

Siffert - C5Z weighs less than a C6. Different gearing too.

We have found that DRs work well for us. They are different to work with than the ET Streets and will allow for higher tire pressures. You may want to give them a try.
